The following General Terms and Conditions of Sale, along with the documents referred to herein, including our Privacy Policy and General Terms and Conditions of Use, govern the offer and sale of products on our website, Studio-qd.com. Please read these terms and conditions carefully before ordering any product. By ordering any of our products, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

Studio QD offers products for purchase on studio-qd.com, providing e-commerce services to both individual customers and professionals.

1.1 Order Processing and Acceptance

Studio QD reserves the right to decline orders that do not align with our business policy.

1.2 Terms and Conditions

These General Terms and Conditions of Sale govern the offer, transmission, and acceptance of purchase orders for products on studio-qd.com between users of the website and Studio QD.

2.1 Placing an Order with Studio QD

You can place an order for our products by following the steps outlined on our website. By placing an order, you agree to pay for the products if we accept your order. All orders are subject to our acceptance. Once we receive your order, we will send you a confirmation email, which will signify our acceptance. The contract between us is formed when this email is sent. Your chosen payment method will be charged upon our acceptance of your order, and you will receive another email once your order has been dispatched. Your order will not be processed until we receive payment.

3.0 Product Pricing

The price of any product will be as quoted on our website, except in cases of obvious error. Our prices may be modified at any time without prior notice.

Unless specified otherwise, prices listed on the website include Value Added Tax (VAT)

The shipping costs in association with a white glove delivery service within the UK, are itemised separately at checkout. 

4.0 Payment Terms

4.1 Payments for products and any applicable shipping and delivery costs must be made via debit card or bank transfer. Studio QD requires advance payment for all shipments. If the buyer fails to make payment as per the terms of this agreement or does not comply with any of its provisions, Studio QD reserves the right to cancel any unshipped portion of the order, retain the goods, and forfeit the deposit as liquidated damages.

4.2 Proceeds from the goods may be used by Studio QD to cover the expenses and costs incurred in exercising its rights under this agreement. Any remaining balance will be applied to the buyer’s account as determined by Studio QD at its sole discretion. The buyer remains responsible for any outstanding balances

5.0 Delivery Preparations

5.1 Before placing an order, it is your responsibility to check and determine your full ability to receive the products ordered.  This includes confirming that the products will fit into your desired room, can be transported through doorways, stairs, and other access points, and that there are no obstacles that might complicate or prevent delivery.

6.0 Refunds & Cancellation Policy:

6.1 Our products are made to order, and therefore, orders cannot be cancelled, nor can products be returned or exchanged unless they are damaged or defective. If you receive a damaged or defective product, please notify Studio QD via email at [email protected]. You have a legal obligation to take reasonable care of the product while it is in your possession. Failure to comply with this obligation may result in a right of action against you for compensation.

7.0 Loss & Damages

7.1 If your furniture piece arrives damaged, please send us photos immediately and note the details of the damage on the driver’s delivery bill. If your order is shipped to a storage facility, ensure the receiver unpacks and inspects it immediately upon receipt. All claims for freight damage must be made within 72 hours of receipt. We will investigate your claim and, if successful, will either repair or replace the item based on its condition.

7.2 You are legally obligated to take reasonable care of the product while it is in your possession. Failure to do so may result in a claim for compensation. If you choose your own freight carrier, any freight claims must be filed directly with them. Studio QD is not responsible for damage or claims related to a customer’s own or third-party freight arrangements.

7.3 If you need to return a product due to an error on our part or due to it being damaged or defective, we will reimburse the delivery charges you paid and cover the return shipping costs. Defective items will be replaced within the standard production timeframe required to reorder and manufacture the product.

7.4 Studio QD will inspect all products returned as damaged or defective and will notify you of your refund via email within a reasonable timeframe. We aim to process any due refund as quickly as possible. If Studio QD accepts the returned goods as damaged or defective, you will receive a full refund, including the delivery costs for sending the item to you and the costs you incurred to return the item to Studio QD.

7.5 In the event that Studio QD determines that the returned products are not faulty, you will be informed that the return is not accepted, and the products will be sent back to you at your expense. Please note that in-stock lighting cannot be returned if the product has been installed, altered, or damaged in any way.

7.6 The value date for the credit will match the value date of the original debit, ensuring that you do not incur any interest loss. Refunds will generally be processed using the same payment method you used for the original transaction unless you have explicitly agreed to a different method.

7.7  We are released from our delivery obligations in cases of force majeure or events such as general mobilization, wars, strikes, civil unrest, natural disasters, transportation delays, raw material shortages, accidents, or any other circumstances that may impede our operations or those of our suppliers. Re-exporting our products from the country where they were ordered is prohibited. If this restriction is violated, we may halt all deliveries

7.8 If your parcel has not arrived within the specified time, please contact [email protected] and we will investigate the matter further.

8.0 UK Shipping & Delivery Policy:

8.1 To assist our customers, we arrange shipping through our preferred carriers who specialise in furniture delivery. Delivery costs are either calculated at checkout based on the product and delivery address within the UK or a separate quotation can be provided for international shipment. All charges will be included in your order’s final balance. Studio QD reserves the right to choose the shipping method (road, sea, or air) and does not guarantee specific delivery timelines, as these are beyond our control.

8.2 At checkout a UK White Glove delivery service is priced for separately.

White Glove Service: Our shipping partner will handle unloading, unpacking, inspecting, and installing the product in your chosen room.

8.3 All transport arranged by Studio QD is fully insured. Claims for freight damage must be made immediately, within 24 hours of delivery.

8. 4 If you choose to handle your own freight and delivery, you must notify Studio QD with specific details of the shipment. The cost to transfer the product from the manufacturer to a terminal for customer pickup will be added to the balance due. The pickup location by you or your agent may trigger sales tax responsibilities at that location. If you choose your own freight carrier, any freight claims must be filed directly with the selected carrier. Studio QD is not responsible for damage or claims related to customer-arranged or third-party freight

8.5 For all International shipments, the customer can request a quotation through the website and a member of the Studio QD team will be in touch with the relevant information for the customer’s consideration and approval.  

9.0 International Shipping and Duties

All international orders will be shipped under Delivered Duty Unpaid (DDU) terms. This means that the prices listed for products or shipping do not include any import duties, taxes, or other charges that may be levied by the destination country’s customs authorities.

As a customer, you will be responsible for any such additional fees, including but not limited to, import duties, taxes, brokerage fees, and any other costs required to release the goods from customs upon arrival in the destination country.

You acknowledge and agree that:

Any customs duties or taxes that arise will be payable directly by you to the relevant authorities.

The responsibility for customs clearance and any related charges will rest solely with you, the customer.

SQD are not liable for any delays caused by customs processes or for any customs duties, taxes, or fees incurred.

If you refuse to pay any applicable duties or taxes upon receipt of the shipment, and the shipment is returned to us, we reserve the right to deduct any return shipping costs and fees from your refund, if a refund is applicable.

By placing an international order, you agree to comply with all applicable import laws, rules, and regulations of the destination country.

10.0 Receipt of Product:

10.1 Studio QD suggests using a qualified receiving warehouse to handle the receipt, inspection, consolidation of deliveries, and facilitate in-home installation. If required, we can recommend a suitable receiver for you. All crated items should be processed by a professional receiver, such as a receiving warehouse.

A receiving warehouse acts on behalf of the client, responsible for documenting any damages and assisting with filing a freight claim if damage is detected.

10.2 When products are delivered directly to a home, a qualified individual should be present to receive them. Signing the courier’s Proof of delivery (POD) upon receipt indicates that the products are in good condition unless exceptions are noted on the POD.

10.3 If a product is refused upon delivery due to quality or damage concerns, the receiver should contact us immediately.

10.4 Inspect the cartons or crates carefully take photos of any damage to the packaging, this is necessary to resolve damage claims.  

11.0 Inspection upon Receipt:

11.1 Unpack the cartons or crates and carefully inspect all merchandise. Ensure that all packages are unpacked in your presence. Do not discard the original packaging until you are completely satisfied with the delivery.

11.2 If you are unable to inspect the merchandise when receiving the shipment, note on the Proof of Delivery (POD) that any concealed damage to boxed or crated products will be the responsibility of the carrier or manufacturer, to be determined upon inspection of the items. Studio QD must be notified within 48 hours of discovering any concealed damage.

11.3 Keep a copy of the POD, save the packaging material, and take pictures of any damage. Report all claims to [email protected].

12.0 Product quality and in-transit damage reporting

12.1 Products are inspected by the manufacturer before release to ensure they are in good condition, complete, and ready for shipment. The carrier is responsible for conducting a thorough inspection of the products at the point of origin. Any damage must be recorded on the Proof of Delivery (POD). The signed POD confirms that the carrier has accepted responsibility for delivering the products in the condition they were received.

12.2 Inspection of boxed or crated products is limited to the exterior packaging. If the condition of the cartons or crates appears compromised, exceptions must be noted, and the packages should be opened immediately.

12.3 The fitting, installation, and maintenance of our products should be carried out by professionals.

13.0 Storage Fees & Failed Delivery Fees

13.1 Unless the buyer specifies a different shipment method, the manufacturer will handle product shipments. If a shipment is returned to the manufacturer due to the buyer’s unexcused delay or failure to accept delivery, the buyer will be responsible for any additional costs incurred, including storage fees.

13.2 Before submitting your order form, you will be asked to carefully read the General Terms and Conditions of Sale. It’s important to keep your contact details up to date so we can reach you if necessary, regarding your order or product delivery.

13.3 Studio QD may choose not to process purchases if there are insufficient guarantees of solvency, if orders are incomplete or incorrect, or if the products are no longer available. In such cases, we will notify you by email and will not proceed with your order. If the order form has been submitted and payment has been made for items that are no longer available, Studio QD will refund the amount paid for those items.

14.0 Taxes & Customs Information

14.1 All our pieces are subject to standard VAT rates. For delivery addresses within the United Kingdom, a 20% VAT will be applied. If your delivery address is within the EU but outside the UK, VAT will only be charged if you are not VAT registered. If you are VAT registered, please provide us with your VAT number so we can exclude VAT from your invoice.

14.2 For deliveries outside the European Union, VAT will not be charged.

14.3 Please note that our prices do not include customs duties or taxes that may apply. The customer is responsible for paying any applicable taxes and customs duties on the delivered goods upon entry into the destination country, in accordance with local regulations.  See 9.0 International Shipping & Duties for further information.

15.0 Product Compliance

Our furniture is designed for residential use only. Certificates for commercial use can be issued upon request for specific items.

17.0 Modifications to Terms and Conditions

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to change or modify portions of these terms and conditions at any time. If we do so, we will post the changes on this page and indicate at the top the date these terms and conditions were last revised.

You should periodically visit this page to review the current terms and conditions so you are aware of any revisions to which you are bound. If you do not agree to abide by these or any future terms and conditions, do not use or access (or continue to use or access) Studio QD.

18.0 Warranty and Liability

Our products come with a one-year warranty against manufacturing defects. This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, misuse, or accidental damage. If you receive a defective product, contact us immediately to arrange for repair or replacement.

19.0 Accurate representation

The images of our products on our site are for illustrative purposes only. While we strive to display colours accurately, we cannot guarantee that your computer will reflect the colours correctly. The products you receive may vary slightly from those images. All woods are applied by hand and may exhibit variations in colour, tone, and character. Although every effort is made to match finishes, an exact match cannot be guaranteed. We do not guarantee finishes against fading or oxidizing. Variations in colour and veining are inherent in wood and contribute to its natural beauty. Our furniture and lighting are handmade, resulting in slight variations.

We do not guarantee that fabrics, whether dyed or natural, will not fade. Despite our efforts to be as accurate as possible, the measurements provided, including weights, dimensions, and capacities, are approximate. All drawings, descriptive materials, weights, dimensions, descriptions, and illustrations on our site, catalogues, or advertisements are close approximations intended to provide a general description of the goods and do not form part of any agreement. No disputes or refusals of merchandise will be accepted on these grounds.
